700 years of the city of Frombork.

Temporary exhibition prepared in connection with 700th anniversary of municipal rights granting to Frombork. The exhibition includes several sections, which are related to the important stages of the development of the city. This applies both to objects produced here, various crafts development and economic life, but also the subsequent rebuilds of the devastation caused by wars over the centuries.

An important place in the 700-year history of the city belongs to the still existing, sixteenth-century water tower, which was equipped with various water-supply devices. It is, along with a preserved part of Copernicus channel, an example of hydro facilities, which had been functioning in the city until the mid-eighteenth century.

Another topic, presented on the exhibition, is the parish church of St. Nicholas, its stages of development, destruction and reconstruction. For the first time pictures of the interior of the church, which was completely burnt down in 1945, will be available for public presentation.

Next topic is the development of fishery, crafts and railways, pharmacy and mail. The exhibits, which were presented at the show, represent different spheres of life and were created throughout the development of the town. Only those monuments that have come from Frombork: those excavated during archaeological excavations, abandoned buildings of old residents, or transferred to a local museum, were meant to be shown in public.

Another group of exhibits are documents showing the recent history of the city, the time of reconstruction after World War II and the participation of scouts in action under the name OPERATION 1001 Frombork. Also many pieces of art (drawings, graphics and painting) with views of Frombork over the centuries were shown.

A calendar was also prepared, which, in a nutshell, cites the most important events in the town.
